The Client: Headquartered in Houston, TX, Patterson-UTI has a long history in the oil and gas space and offers oilfield solutions in the US and western Canada. They offer low carbon solutions to minimize environmental impact along with drilling innovations that continue to redefine the future of drilling.
The Challenge: Patterson-UTI was in the process of transitioning applications from Oracle EBS to Oracle Cloud HCM and partnered with iLearnERP on an initial project to support this change. They also recently merged with Ulterra and NexTier, approximately doubling their Oracle HCM employee user community. Consequently, they again sought out iLearnERP, a training and change partner, to manage the people part of the solution for the now combined over ten thousand employees. They required a coordinated change and learning program to ensure successful adoption of new and existing HCM applications, champion change between new and established teams and mitigate risks associated with new applications.
The Solution: iLearnERP partnered with Patterson-UTI to provide change leadership activities and training development. From impact and stakeholder analysis, to engagement and adoption planning, iLearnERP’s comprehensive OCM approach provided Patterson-UTI with an iterative process of vision and strategy. We built OCM capability through program activities such as the change network, Train-The-Trainer deployment activities and communication design. We also provided new HCM training modules that integrated with and enhanced the existing program, as well as coordinated and generated communication for Stakeholders from end users to executives, leveraging in-application and other mediums available to the respective audiences. These activities increased Patterson-UTI’s ability to thrive and continue to stay adaptable and innovative. By addressing the people part of change with effective OCM and successful user adoption, Patterson-UTI achieved their overall project and organizational goals.
