The Client: U.S. Silica is a global performance material company with over 1,500 diversified products and more than 27 production facilities across the United States. U.S. Silica specializes in mining, processing, logistics and material science that contribute to building products, chemicals, fillers and extenders, filtration, foundry, glass, oil and gas and recreation.
The Challenge: U.S. Silica brought JD Edwards to their EP Minerals locations, moving off of IFS ERP and were in need of training and change leadership to support their users. Change management and training are crucial when implementing new software as they help organizations navigate and mitigate resistance and increase user confidence, ensuring a smooth transition by addressing the human aspects of the change. U.S. Silica needed to promote user adoption, minimize disruption and enhance the overall success of the software implementation.
Our Solution: To assist with the people focus of the change to a new ERP platform, iLearnERP provided a training and change program to consistently transfer knowledge and build key skills. iLearnERP completed change planning including user analysis and site assessments, reviewed readiness, resistance, and engagement factors, conducted an impact analysis and developed training by process, people, data and technology criteria, incorporated process mapping and task identification activities, and created training and support communications.
Starting from U.S. Silica’s established eLearning curriculum, existing processes were uplifted and amended as appropriate, and new processes in manufacturing, planning, quality and inventory were developed with a comprehensive curriculum. The curriculum design and build was also wrapped into the overall change management program for EP Minerals teams and deployed in a high-touch, live-event format across EPM locations.
